Welcome to the interactive flow map for the Edward/Kolety-Wakool River system.

This map provides up-to-date flow information in the Edward/Kolety-Wakool River system and allows users to explore:

  • Real-time flow, temperature data (and where available, dissolved oxygen and salinity data) for over 15 flow gauges 
  • The contribution of Commonwealth environmental water to total discharge at four gauges: Yallakool Creek offtake, Colligen Creek regulator, Wakool River offtake regulator and Wakool River at Wakool-Barham Road
  • trends in long-term fish surveys

The data in this tool is provided for information purposes only. Gauge data is sourced from the WaterNSW real-time water data website (Data source: Prov). Data for the Commonwealth Environmental water releases is updated annually. Fish data is collected as part of the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder (CEWH) Flow-MER program. This flow tool was developed by Charles Sturt University and DiscoverEI, and funded by CEWH and Charles Sturt University.

The Mid-Murray region contains diverse and rich natural environments. Its waterways provide water for domestic use, and support diverse agriculture, tourism and recreational activities and, Aboriginal cultural values and practices.
